The Astrology of Black Liberation: Virgo Season
It’s Virgo season and I am continuing my series, The Astrology of Black Liberation. This time it’s with Sun sign in Virgo and the Virgo/Mercury/Mutable Earth archetypes of Virgo Season.
In this series I am writing about Black Liberation energy in regards to artists/activists/political figures, religion/spirituality/sexuality/creativity, music/art movements via all the sun signs/archetypes.
Virgo is mutable Earth sign, in late summer into early harvest time. During this time it’s a transitional period that supports Libra Cardinal Energy that brings in fall/autumn season in the Western Hemisphere.
Virgo is retiring from summer leisure, into busy/frenzied, organized, attention to detail and accuracy energy because it has to be. Virgo season falls in late summer harvest time is organizational, prepping, and preparation energy where we are gathering the fruits of labor and laboring some more for the upcoming harvest and colder, winter weather.
Poor harvest means you are starving during the winter time, this is why all these responsibilities fall on Virgo. Virgo traditionally rules the 6th house of work, health (both physical and emotional), pets, and work ethic. Virgo energy has to keep fed, and get of ready for the cold and scarcity.
Regardless like all mutable signs there is a duality of their energy. There is underrated spiritual and sexual side to Virgo energy like it's spiritual doppelganger and opposite sign Pisces.
Virgo is the Virgin/Whore, it belongs to no one, and it revels in both it’s virtuous monogamy and it’s vapid promiscuity. Like Pisces, Virgo can heal and be a hybrid of Madonna/Virgin Mary and Florence Nightingale in the day and be Mary Magdalene in the night.
Mutable energy can be very sensitive (not weak mind you), vulnerable, and chaotic. This is a time of volatile weather, getting in and out of routines, preparation, and committing to your health/work/money making routines and your spiritual, creative sexual, healing practices.
